Actively Learn is an online tool with a library of thousands of texts and Common Core-aligned lessons that both teachers and students can interact with in real-time. Teachers assign pre-existing Actively Learn materials to students or upload their own content, then track student responses and activity using the company’s data tools. Clever is a service that makes it easier for schools to use many popular education technology products. It works by providing a simple developer interface (API) for third party education technology software to access important data from Student Information Systems (SIS) used by schools. This data can then be used by third party products to deliver services with less hassle.


CodeHS is a website (and Chrome app) that features programming lessons and puzzles to help students learn to write and use code. Users watch short videos that explain design concepts – these are also available as slide shows – and then complete online challenges. The complete lessons mirror the topics and exercises common in a basic computer science course. Five full yearlong courses (Intro to CS in JavaScript, Intro to CS in Python, Computing Ideas, AP CS Principles, and AP CS in Java) are available, as are a number of supplemental courses, including online professional development for teachers.

Or they can plug in their own equation and see what kind of graph pops up; sliders allow students to adjust values and see what happens. Users can also click directly on the graph to find the coordinates of points of intersection, maxima, and minima.

Courseware offers a full suite of over 300 courses for initial credit and concept and credit recovery, including core curriculum, world languages, electives, AP, honors, and dual credit courses. These online courses are built using an instructional model grounded in research, and are aligned to state standards and the Common Core.

Edgenuity MyPath is a supplemental program designed to meet students where they are in reading and math—and give them exactly what they need to catch up, keep up, and get ahead. Edgenuity MyPath provides students with age-appropriate, online instruction and gives educators the ability to monitor academic progress easily. While the program is designed for middle and high school students, it covers skills and concepts as low as the third-grade level.

Edgenuity UpSmart is used as a companion to the core curriculum, providing students with additional practice with grade-level skills. UpSmart is highly customizable to align to a  classroom’s scope and sequence. Teachers can assign topics to students in conjunction with their classroom lessons, prioritize and reorder topics as needed, or allow students to complete topics in the order they prefer.

Edpuzzle is a web-based tool for editing online videos and adding interactive content to target specific learning objectives. Teachers can upload their own videos, add URLs, or search the built-in content library (including YouTube videos and filters for Khan Academy, TED, National Geographic, and more). Videos can be customized with voice-over comments, embedded assessment questions, links, and more. Teachers can share videos with their students, assign due dates, and track their students’ scores and progress over time as students watch videos and answer embedded assessments. Students can watch videos solo or via “live mode,” where teachers can show a video as a group activity.
