Accelerated Reader by Renaissance – Beta

Accelerated Reader is a computerized supplementary reading program that provides guided reading instruction to students in grades K–12. It aims to improve students’ reading skills through reading practice and by providing frequent feedback on students’ progress to teachers.

Albert – Beta

Albert is a digital question bank of over 100,000 original practice questions and explanations for grades 5-12. It covers all core curriculum areas (ELA, math, science, literature, etc.) as well as all college entrance test prep (SAT, ACT, and AP). Teachers create quizzes and assessments from our question bank to supplement instruction and measure growth. This saves teachers time from creating their own practice and assessment content and provides students will high-quality real-time feedback.

BrainPOP – Beta

BrainPOP offers curriculum based animated movies, learning games,  interactive quizzes, primary source activities, and a breadth of additional resources for students in grades 3+. Its topics span Science, Social Studies, English, Math, Engineering & Tech, Health, and Arts & Music. BrainPOP is also home to GameUp, an educational games portal for the classroom; Make-a-Map, our a concept mapping tool; and the “My BrainPOP” suite of features, which lets teachers keep track of learning, customize assessment, incorporate gaming into instruction, and provide feedback on learning artifacts.

BrainPOP ELL – Beta

BrainPOP ELL is a comprehensive English language learning program for students of all ages. It is comprised of short, animated movies as well as games, quizzes, and interactive features. It encompasses the four main language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The movies feature the characters Moby and Ben, who model conversational English while seamlessly presenting the target vocabulary, language, and content.

Desmos – Beta

Desmos is a free graphing and teaching tool for math available on the web as well as on iOS and Android. In addition to plotting equations, classroom activities are available to help students learn about a variety of math concepts. For example, students can learn how to transform periodic functions by trying to slide marbles through points on a graph. Or they can plug in their own equation and see what kind of graph pops up; sliders allow students to adjust values and see what happens. Users can also click directly on the graph to find the coordinates of points of intersection, maxima, and minima.
